How it All Started
Born after 9/11 to fill a void, IslamInSpanish opened the first Centro in 2016—breaking language barriers to make Islam accessible to millions of Latinos.
In 2019, we faced a devastating eviction. But holding onto Allah’s promise—”With hardship comes ease”—our community raised over $1M to secure a permanent, interest-free home.
Today, our new Centro is a world-class sanctuary. Inspired by the beauty of Muslim Spain, it is a place of cultural pride, belonging, and a lighthouse for global Dawah.

Founded by Jaime “Mujahid” Fletcher, a Colombian revert to Islam and member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council, IslamInSpanish is an educational non-profit organization that was established to educate Latinos all over the world about Islam in the Spanish language.
